The thesis.

Shikra is a network of document and utility tools where the user's content stays on the user's device. The tools that share this network are not independent products that happen to share a brand. They are surfaces of one privacy guarantee.

§ 01

Why this exists

Roughly 95% of the document and utility tool market monetises by harvesting user data. The free tools take payment in extracted PII; the paid tools take both money and data. The structure is uniform across rent receipt generators, payslip makers, PDF utilities, image compressors, OCR, redaction, passport-photo makers — every adjacent vertical. Once the pattern is visible, it is hard to unsee.

Shikra takes the opposite stance and treats it as a brand. We do not collect the content of your document. We do not collect your email or phone as a condition of use. We do not run third-party trackers. The same architecture that makes a Shikra rent receipt private makes a Shikra payslip, a Shikra PDF redaction, and a Shikra passport photo private. The brand is the architecture.

§ 02

The network

Three Shikra tools are live today; five more are in development. Each tool serves an existing-demand vertical where users currently choose between a free data-harvesting tool and a paid data-harvesting tool, and where a private third option does not exist.

§ 03

Shikra Verified is the connector

Documents generated through Shikra tools will carry a Shikra Verified QR. Recipients scan the QR with any phone camera; the verifier returns the issuer, the issue time-stamp, and a tamper check. Free for the recipient. The QR is what turns a network of independent tools into a single trust surface for the people who receive Shikra-issued documents — HR teams, lenders, CAs, auditors, counter-parties.

Old QRs verify forever. We do not invalidate tokens issued under prior cryptographic versions. The promise to recipients is durable.

Operated by

Shikra is operated by Shikra LLP, incorporated in India in 2026. We do not raise venture capital. We do not have an exit timeline. The network is built to fund itself through penny revenue at scale across many verticals — a cash flow that funds the next vertical, the patent portfolio, and the engineering bar this kind of work requires.

§ 05

What you can expect

  • Each Shikra tool will state plainly what it does and what it charges, before you start.
  • No tool will ask for your email, phone, or account before generating its first output.
  • Documents you generate today will continue to verify against the Shikra Verified endpoint indefinitely.
  • When we change anything, the change is published and dated. The privacy and terms pages carry effective dates.
